Ancestors the humankind odyssey cooking4/18/2023 ![]() ![]() That is to say any non-mutant elders CAN be killed before you change generation or evolve, and the deaths will set your timer back. You can SLOW DOWN this timer by killing any unwanted Elders in each generation. The whole "ahead of science" / "behind science" thing isn't really important. Once you reach around "200,000 years remaining" or thereabouts, you evolve into the final form and it is game over. Those mutations then become active / fixed, and you can work on getting new ones.Īdditionally, note that the number of times you can evolve is limited. when you have the maximum number of Adult + Elder mutants in your group that you can get. So if you want and poked around at meteorites already without bringing all your non-mutant babies along. There are only limited meteorites in the game, so I suggest only using this on generations with low numbers of natural mutations (I use it when there are 2/6 or less). Specifically ANY non-mutant infants you have with your group (in the vicinity) when you EXAMINE A NEW METEORITE will gain mutations once you put those infants down in your home settlement. The absolute maximum number of mutations you can evolve with is 12. But if you don't get that, or have different limits, just keep turning over generations and producing the maximum number of infants until you're satisfied. ![]() I personally accept 6 or more mutations total as an acceptable number to evolve with. Infant mutations at the point of Evolution are NOT kept, and neither are any lost when Elders die. Afterall, you want the maximum number of mutations you can get when you evolve.Īlso keep in mind that the only mutations kept when you evolve are the ones in living Adults and Elders. So if you have 4/6 with mutations, that is a good result, 3/6 is an average result, and 2/6 is a bad result. ![]() The base chance of an infant being born with a mutation is around 50%. Not sure if you've gathered yet that the ones with the glowing orange spots on the group indicator in the bottom right are the ones with mutations, while the ones with plain white spots (or non-fuzzy orange spots for infants) are the trash with NO mutations. You apparently already know about the hard population limits. ![]()
